House Sitting a New Phase

After our short holiday we stayed a few nights with Cherie and then it was time to start our first house sitting. When we were making plans on “where to from here” after our home had been sold we initially thought renting would be best but as we were wanting to also have some holidays we came up with the idea of house sitting. Helping others to have a worry free holiday and experiencing different neighborhoods held a lot of appeal.

To cut a long story short we are now looking after 2 gorgeous cats in a small house just 30 minutes train ride from the city. We have been here a couple of weeks and all is going well. The cats are very different both in looks and personality and we have very quickly settled into their routine.

Winston had fun under the umbrella one wet afternoon

The other cat is allowed outside so Winston wasn’t happy

Trying out my new lens I quite liked this one

We’ve had a chance to start exploring the neighborhood which is fairly dense suburbia developed about 30 years ago. Much larger blocks than modern subdivisions and very few fully fenced properties which makes for a friendlier environment. There is also a large golf course and plenty of parkland nearby. Not sure that we want to buy here but can appreciate why others do.

We also have enjoyed the courtyard of this house and it has given us some good ideas for when we again own a property.

We have another house sit arranged for February again with a very mature cat so looking forward to that.
